“Two-player cooperative game! Operate two spaceships in the dangerous Sirius Meteorite Belt to collect minerals by the force field generated by collision with each other!”
About the game
This is a small game designed for a 90-second gameplay experience as part of a game jam.
Our concept is that: Two players control separate spaceships, and when they collide with each other, it triggers an explosive wave that shatters nearby rocks. These broken rocks transform into mines, which can then be absorbed by the player's ship to earn points.
Design on collision
we adhered to the principle of simple and fun. Therefore, we use our time to polish a very smooth collision system.
When the two ships create an explosive wave upon collision, they push each other away, and the camera simultaneously zooms out. It added a simple yet exhilarating quality to the game, which players have thoroughly enjoyed.
I designed and created all the game's art assets.
During production, I adopted the shader & gloom effects to the project. Those gloomy visuals play a crucial role in our high-tech style of visual presence.
For the overall concept, I opted for a 3D camera setup to add depth to the background. This approach adds a touch of realism to the moving meteorites in the back, as they have varying Z-axes, players can feel those rocks are traversing through the vastness of space.
