Collapsing of Tehom

World in Stomach

Our stories take place in the Stomach of God. During the game, the world will slowly be devoured by Tehom……Players must make smart tactical decisions to end the battle before everything collapses...or use the changes in terrain caused by the collapse to their advantage.

  • The original inspiration for the collapse of Tehom was to complement the storytelling of a "world constantly being devoured" in worldbuilding. Later on, I realized it had higher potential to become a part of the game mechanics.

  • The collapse mechanic progressively constricts player movement, rendering dodging AoE attacks more challenging. Coupled with the height differential system, it incentivizes players to strategically occupy higher terrain.

  • The collapse imbues Tehom with vitality, instilling players with a sense of urgency and fear of the unknown. It embodies the darkness, terror, and allure of the world we seek to shape.

Visual Guide

The more a tile trembles, the greater its fall on the coming turn. I designed these visual cues for players while maintaining immersion

Campaign Map Collapse

When players enter the campaign map, the collapse continues! This design is greatly inspired by the Game ‘Faster Than Light’, where players must utilize their limited time to gather more resources before the collapse arrives.
