History & Myth
The Genesis
It began with the siblings of the primordial egg.
A swirling mass of serpent bodies, each holding untold potential. Together, they would shape the nascent world. But young serpent Oephon was not content, desiring ever-greater control - and so he savaged his unborn kin.
Oephon partook of his siblings’ flesh. In doing so, he gleaned from them their shares of creation and declared himself the one true creator of the world.
Having consumed all else that existed within the egg, Oephon fell into a deep slumber. His form would provide the foundation for the sprouting world, where he would lie dormant till the time came to feast once more.
The Birth of Civilization
After Oephon descended into a deep slumber, life first sprang from the residual blood and flesh left behind by his slain sibling. These beings engaged in ceaseless battles, seeking to emulate Oephon's actions, consuming each other's flesh to become the mightiest of entities.
This tumultuous war raged on for 3,000 years until a formidable being named Pantokrator established dominion. Pantokrator used his own flesh and blood to craft angels. With the angelic army's conquest, he ultimately vanquished the Mekone giants.
The defeated giants were banished to Tehom. And, at this point, the age of civilization dawned.
Dominion of Patokrator
This is a golden age recorded in distant history.
The descendants of the angels merged with the inhabitants of the earth, and these descendants became humans. As believers in Patokrator, humans have established many city-states and civilizations.
Among them, the city at the center of the world is called Demiur.
Dominion of the Four
Under the command of Pantokrator, the four most powerful angelic lords conspired, betrayed, and poisoned Patokrator. The four lords shared Patokrator's flesh and proclaimed to the outside world that Patokrator had disappeared on a secret journey.
As a result, El'Mir, and the follower 3 gods, as the overseer, assumed control over Demiur and other human nations.
These were tumultuous times, but the rule of the gods continued.
Ascension War
At the end of the four gods' rule, the gates of Tehom were opened. Grotesque and terrifying Mekone giants from the depths of Hell surged into the mortal realm, vowing vengeance against the gods. With Pantokrator gone, the four gods lacked the power to organize an expedition to confront the Mekone in Hell. They manipulated humans, urging their armies to battle the Mekone giants.
The war raged on for centuries, reducing the mortal realm to a wasteland. In the war's final stages, the gods were tricked by the giants into revealing the truth about Pantokrator's death. Human faith, led by Demiur, shattered, and they declared war on the gods. The conflict escalated into a chaotic three-way battle between the gods, the giants, and humanity.
Fall of Demiur
Once a prosperous maritime power, the Kingdom of Demiur was heavily weakened in the aftermath of the Ascension War between the gods.
The scent of divine blood roused the sleeping hunger of ravenous Oephos, and the gaping maws of Tehom yawned open to devour the hapless nations of the world.
Once prized for its pearls and fine incense, the coastal fortress of Ostarvan sank like countless others into the depths of Tehom. Its armies and walls were shattered by the fall, the city was beset by the starving creatures that lay in wait.
