Tehom
Tehom in History
Tehom is a distorted, grotesque giant realm of hell.
The initial inspiration for this world drew from Dante's Divine Comedy. I further amalgamated elements from Aztec, Indian, and certain Native American depictions of the underworld to craft a vibrant and living world.
Prior to the Serpent God's awakening, the concept of Tehom resembled Greek mythology's Tartarus—a colossal prison for giants.
Tehom Now
After the serpent Oephen's resurgence, the avaricious creator deity devoured the entire world.
Now, Tehom has become a giant melting pot that confuses the concepts of life and death. All life is dissolved in the Tehom, the huge stomach. Desperate beings have to escape deeper into Tehom...
Layers of Tehom
After the earth cracked, the ruins of the human country Demiur fell into Tehom, forming the first level of scenery in the pit - a flesh-and-blood deformed hellscape built on the ruins of Demiur.
In deeper layers, players will enter the prehistoric ruins of the Brass Giant Mekone, which is proof that they were imprisoned for thousands of years.
Hidden Cults & Gods
At the end of Age of Sunder, the war between giants, humans, and gods intensifies. The earth is filled with curses and suffering. Countless ancient gods, creatures, cults, and organizations chose to enter Tehom's hell gate in order to survive before being swallowed by Tehom.
These cults & gods lurk in the layers deep within Tehom, devouring creatures that have fled here to restore their old power.
The Rules of Tehom
The Rule of Consumption - In much the same way as Oephon took his siblings’ rights of creation for himself, the denizens of Tehom operate upon a simple principle - the strong consume, and the weak are to be consumed. Those who consume others in Tehom gain the right to grow stronger by absorbing the strength and abilities of the consumed flesh.
The Rule of Growth - The “egg” represents nascent potential, yet to hatch and fulfill its true form. The true forms of those in Tehom likewise yearn to emerge from their cranial shells. Growth requires sustenance - those that consume sufficiently may yet hatch, to see the emergence of their real potential.
The Rule of Hunger - When all is said and done, it is Oephon alone that stands at the apex of the world - Even in dead slumber, he still dreams of prey and the wet-warm taste of flesh. Spawned from the body of slumbering Oephon, Tehom inherits his undying hunger - slowly eating away at the minds and bodies of those who tardy too long.
